Avoid for ANY pizza delivery from Marcos! Over the past couple of years, my family have spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on pizza at this establishment. The pizza is generally good. I am writing about a horrendous experience that I have had this evening when attempting to have a pizza delivered. I ordered pizza delivery (which is not free), and when I placed my order I transposed a single number in the address. There is no physical structure at the errant address. All other information was correct including credit card, name, phone number, etc. I started getting text messages that my order had been picked up and was to be delivered. My spouse went to the lobby of our building to await the delivery while I attended to our grandchildren. Let me say first, I regret that I do not speak or read Spanish. When attempting to communicate directly with the driver, I was unable to bridge a language divide. I have a very long text in Spanish that I tried to translate. So, I thought the obvious thing to do was to call Marcos directly. I was put on the phone with a "Front of the House Manager" who was unwilling to share their full name. As soon as it became apparent that the address was not correct, she said "I have no control over the delivery when you enter the wrong number." She went on to explain that the delivery service was "contracted," and that she could do nothing. Her tone and attitude were both belittling and humiliating to me. I would have expected the response to be, very simply, "We will make this right." Instead, I was told that it was MY FAULT and MY PROBLEM. When I explained that I could not communicate with the driver, it was a "contracted service." After I asked if we could cancel the order, and I would have my credit card company reverse the charge, she made me feel like she was doing me some kind of a FAVOR in offering a full refund. (Yes, the charge was there before any delivery was made. That part they do well.) I simply would expect better basic customer service from any company. Instead, I was told I was being "combatitive." I was upset. One single transposed number, and it is all YOUR FAULT. I called back to ask for the name of the manager, and was told that the owner (again unnamed) would give me a call tomorrow. I will wait for that phone call. I have already called my credit card company to place a hold on the charge. All of this could have beenn avoided IF the place of "business" had simply said, "Let's make this right." And finally, to add insult to injury, I actually received a text message that said, "Your order was delivered! Thank you for ordering from Marco's Coal Fired." I am not kidding. My guess is that it is another "contracted service" that sent the message, and they have no control over it. AVOID ORDERING...
Read more*Update 5/2019 I've now visited Marco's on several occasions during happy hour. I have never seen the rude bartender again. In the past 10 months, we have received nothing but pleasant and wonderful service and food. Because they have been so wonderful every single time since my first in person visit, I'd like to make sure I update my rating and review. Thank you to all the employees over the past year that have made our visits so nice!
old review 6/2018 I've ordered delivery from Marco's many times and their pizza is amazing. The flavors and crust are so perfect it is honestly one of the best pizzas I've had in Denver. This style of pie is very close to what you would get in Naples, which is my favorite.
I do have to knock them down a star for lack of friendly service. On a Saturday afternoon we decided to visit the restaurant in person. The bartender came over to take our order and it was clear from his tone he did not want to be there. We asked for an order to go. He quickly took the order then started giving us place settings. I mentioned the to go order once again and he was clearly annoyed and told us (loudly) that they did not offer happy hour to go. I was pretty shocked by his rudeness given that we had no idea it was happy hour. I watched him as he treated quite a few people in this same manner. So we we decided to leave. Since I don't visit this place often in person, I have no idea if that is the norm. However, the guy’s demeanor was so bad it is enough to...
Read moreDecided we would check out Marco’s Coal Fired this afternoon. We decided that we would order the Jumbo Limoncello Chicken Wings, Garlic Cheese Bread with Marinara, Margherita pizza and a Double Pepperoni pizza. The wings were delicious with a sweet and tart flavor to them, very tender. The Garlic Cheese Bread was cooked perfectly with plenty of cheese on them cooked perfectly and the dipping sauce OMG was so tasty. You’ll want more. On the main courses, 1st the Margherita Pizza which was cooked in the coal fired oven which gave a great coal fired flavored to the crust. The San Marzano tomato sauce was so flavorful. Unless you have had it, you have no concept of what sauce is supposed to taste like. The mozzarella and the pecorino Romano cheeses had so much flavor. Add the fresh Basil and the EVOO and you have a delicious and flavorful pizza. No other place is going to match this. The pepperoni pizza had a ton of flavor also. On to one of the best thing about our experience and that was our waiter Jason. He rocked it the whole time, ensuring our drinks were refilled, making sure we had a phenomenal meal. And one of the staff saw me looking around at the different pictures on the wall from our table and came over to check with me if there was a problem. That is attention to your customers. Great job. We all agreed that there is no other pizza place we have to go to. This...
